The rapper Eminem went full throttle on President Trump in an acapella freestyle rap video titled “The Storm”, that was played at the BET Hip Hop Awards on Tuesday. The rapper accused the president of racism, hypocrisy, disrespect of military veterans, and more.
He reprimanded Mr. Trump for his lack of response to the recent violence in Charlottesville, Va., the devastation in Puerto Rico from Hurricane Maria, and the mass shooting in Las Vegas.
The video was filmed in Eminem’s hometown of Detroit, Michigan as part of the BET Hip Hop Awards’ traditional cyphers, where rappers typically deliver verses and show off their lyricism in a group setting.
In his solo appearance, Eminem, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and baseball cap, touches on Colin Kaepernick, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Stephen K. Bannon. He also appears to reference Senator John McCain.
Mr. Kaepernick expressed his support with a raised fist emoji on Twitter thanking Eminem.
Eminem refused to hold back as he ripped into his fans that are Trump supporters.
“And any fan of mine who’s a supporter of his, I’m drawing in the sand a line. You’re either for or against, and if you can’t decide who you like more and you’re split on who you should stand beside, I’ll do it for you with this…” he raps.
He finished the line by throwing a middle finger in front of the camera.
